This is a mini Buddha pendant made with the semi precious gemstone red jasper. The pendant comes with an adjustable necklace. See alternate picture for size perspective. Red Jasper is the red variation of brecciated jasper. It is colored by hematite and is found in large natural formations. In Roman times it was used to create mosiacs, and later, colums in churches were built using it. Buddha means Awakened One or Enlightened One. Once a prince, Buddha chose to give up his material wealth in search of truth, peace and virtue. He promoted a life of non-violence and living harmoniously with nature. Those who follows Buddha's teachings will achieve much inner peace and spiritual enlightenment.
